Animals & Birds
Animals and birds appear throughout painting history, from small Dutch Golden Age studies of a single caged bird to still lifes stocked with fruit, game, and insects, painted with close attention to feather, fur, and texture. Some of these works also served as early records of species and natural history.
This collection includes Fabritius's The Goldfinch, Kyosai's Full Moon with Crow on Plum Branch, and Martin Johnson Heade's Cattleya Orchid and Three Hummingbirds. Each canvas is made to order on stretched canvas, with its size labeled against the true dimensions of the original.
