Seascape
Painters have long turned to the sea for its changing light, weather, and drama, from Dutch Golden Age ship portraits to nineteenth-century painters working directly along the American and European coastlines. A seascape can be calm and glassy or a study in raw, churning force, depending on what the painter chooses to show.
This collection includes Monet's The Bridge at Argenteuil, Renoir's Seascape, and Willem van de Velde the Elder's Dutch Ships near the Coast. Every canvas is made to order and labeled with its size against the original painting.
