Japanese

Japan's Edo period gave rise to ukiyo-e, a woodblock print tradition depicting landscapes, city life, and beautiful women, made for a broad, popular audience rather than a wealthy elite. Hokusai and Hiroshige are its most famous names, but many other skilled printmakers worked in the same tradition.

This collection includes Hokusai's Fuji from the Pass of Mishima alongside quieter finds like Kikukawa Eizan's A Picture of the Viewing in the Pleasure Quarters. Each print is made to order on stretched canvas, with its size labeled against the true dimensions of the original woodblock print.
