Cityscape
Cities have drawn painters since the earliest urban views, whether the bridges and bustle of Edo-period Japan or the boulevards and railway stations of nineteenth-century Paris and London. These paintings capture a moment of city life that has often since disappeared, redeveloped or rebuilt long ago.
This collection includes Monet's Charing Cross Bridge and Houses of Parliament, Pissarro's The Boulevard Montmartre on a Winter Morning, and Hiroshige's Drum Bridge and Yuhi Hill at Meguro. Each canvas is made to order on stretched canvas, with its size labeled against the true dimensions of the original.
