Édouard Manet
Edouard Manet was a French painter whose modern-life subjects bridged Realism and the emerging Impressionist movement, often unsettling the official Paris Salon of his day. He painted cafe life, leisure, and portraits with a directness and flatness that was new for the 1860s and 1870s, and younger Impressionist painters looked to him as a leader.
This collection includes A Bar at the Folies-Bergere, Boating, The Spanish Singer, and Woman Reading. Each canvas is made to order and labeled with its size against the real dimensions of Manet's original painting, so the scale is never a guess.
