Rocks at Fontainebleau — Paul Cézanne (1890s)

Cezanne painted these boulders in the Forest of Fontainebleau outside Paris in the early 1890s, using the same faceted, geometric brushwork he applied to Mont Sainte-Victoire -- a treatment that later helped inspire Cubism.
